The Selection #1

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

The first thing I want to point out about this book is the cover. It is beautiful, perfect for the story.
When I reading this book, I was totally drawn in!

The characters were awesome. America, who is your main character, is definitely my favorite. She was such a strong character and appreciates life. In this society, people are divided by castes.

America is a 5 which is below the average. They are artists and musicians but frequently struggle for money. Aspen is a six. Five's are not allowed to marry six's. Their relationship is secret. But, Aspen has decided that he has to let her go.
The Royal Family has decided it is time for their young Prince Maxon to find a wife. 35 ladies are chosen to participate in The Selection, and, much to her surprise, she is chosen. And she's really dissapointed. She isn't like Prince Maxon. But she knows that this is a chance of a lifetime and it can really help her family out.
